Returning Warriors Program
Current projects include
the Returning Warriors program
for soldiers experiencing the traumatic effects of warfare in the
Middle East. This program was designed to integrate ancient healing
approaches and techniques with traditional treatment modalities.
The program is presented as either and weekend or a weeklong retreat,
with follow-up support through either weekend workshops for soldiers
and their families, or referral to other ongoing programs.
Returning Warriors Facilitator Training Experienced therapists,
shamanic practitioners, veterans, and others interested in presenting
and facilitating Returning Warriors retreats are welcome to apply.
Please see more about the training program on the Returning
Warriors web site.

Returning
Warriors:
Ancient Treatment for the Trauma of War
We
are also completing a book outlining traditional and complementary
indigenous treatment approaches to trauma, including war trauma.
Included are a discussion of the history of warfare, examining the
probable reasons trauma is more extensive and damaging now than in
previous conflicts.
The book will be published by the Ravens Grove Foundation Press,
and is scheduled to be available in Spring 2007. |
